KOMET of Canada and Castelar Tool, a KOMET SERVICE Partner, host joint grand opening of new facility

KOMET of Canada and Castelar Tool, a KOMET SERVICE Partner, held a joint grand opening celebration on April 15. The two companies, who already worked closely together, now share the same new, state-of-the-art facility in Mississauga, Ont.

TORONTO (May 2015) – April 15 proved to be a big day for both KOMET of Canada and Castelar Tool, the first KOMET SERVICE Partner in Canada, as the two companies held a joint grand opening in their new, shared facility. This momentous day had been months in the making.

Although the two companies have been close since Castelar Tool joined the KOMET SERVICE network in late 2013, their relationship was only strengthened when they moved into the same facility. The KOMET SERVICE model, which emphasizes collaboration and communication, is particularly strong between KOMET of Canada and Castelar Tool; being under the same roof has afforded an unprecedented level of camaraderie between a large tooling company and a local premier regrind shop. The partnership between the two companies is readily apparent when entering their Mississauga building.

On April 15, the two companies welcomed their guests to tour the facility, to mingle, and to ask questions. In addition to tours and demonstrations, guests watched as leaders from the two companies engaged in a ceremonial ribbon cutting.

Representatives from both companies gave brief speeches, explaining their history, how far they had come, and the immense pride they felt for their companies and their new home. Renato Evola, Owner and President of Castelar Tool, spoke fondly of the KOMET SERVICE Platform, saying, “KOMET has a long history of innovation, and it's the first in the industry to create the KOMET SERVICE Partner, and the concept is very simple: to partner with local shops that will support them with their quality tools.”

Thomas Whennen, Director of Channels at KOMET of America and Manager of KOMET SERVICE in North America, elaborated on Evola’s comments, explaining, “The partnerships continue to strengthen. Obviously it was a learning experience along the way; you don’t roll out a concept like this easily because it is so different. We are not certifying these KOMET SERVICE Partners; we are asking them to walk side-by-side with us in their territories to grow our business.”

Joe Tabri, President of KOMET of Canada, rounded out the speeches, stating, “We are definitely two separate companies working together to bring stronger benefits to our customers, elevating service levels, more expertise, and more speed to market”Castelar Tool and KOMET of Canada are very proud of both their business and their shared space. Despite its large physical footprint, the new facility has a light carbon footprint, with features such as energy-efficient lighting and heat-recycling. The modern, sleek building also features ample training and meeting spaces, and it is only minutes from Toronto Pearson International Airport and the region’s major motorways. The new facilities highlight both companies’ commitment to the KOMET SERVICE Platform and to the important Canadian market.
